UNIQUE food and drink locations in Berlin

AND WHERE TO FIND THEM.

Berlin has so much to offer to all who visit may that be for history, music or beer. But everyone must eat and drink so here’s a few unique places I’ve discovered in Berlin so far…

Street Art in Berlin
Graffiti wall Berlin

Klunkerkranich

Located on the highest level of the shopping centre’s multi-storey car park, this is a great little gem to find. With panoramic views of the vast city, it makes you feel a little small and grounded in comparison to the size of Berlin.

The set up in chilled and urban with recycled materials making up the furniture and art. It’s colourful and abstract. Plants all around and old school fairy lights drape over head under limited fabric covers for those odd, light rainfalls.

Get there early to avoid missing out and stick around for sunset!

Holzmarkt containers in Berlin

Holzmarkt

This is a great space to visit when you’re near the East Side Gallery. A container made chill out area with a few shops, bars and cafes. Set right by the river it’s perfect on a sunny day to visit and relax. It is totally free to enter and the main area is wheelchair accessible, with a few steps and uneven paths closer to the rivers’ edge. Dogs are also allowed, regarding they are kept on their leads.

The murals which cascade over the containers are bright, bold and fun for all. Plus there are small man-made pools on the rivers edge in places for those very warm days.

Cafe Mugrabi

A small independent cafe and deli serving Middle Eastern food is located by Görlitzer Park. It may look small but seems to be very popular with many tourist and locals. Avoid the midday rush if you can and enjoy the slower pace and amazing food. All ingredients are sourced locally resulting in a wonderful menu of brunch plates and nibbles. *At present the cafe is currently closed for a refurb*

Silo Coffee

Truffle Mushrooms by Silo

This place has to be on your list if you are a coffee and brunch lover! It’s one of the best places I’ve had brunch ever and the coffee by Fjord pairs so nicely with it all.

Located in Friedrichshain, get there with plenty of time as tables are limited inside and out but it’ll be worth the wait.

My go-to order is the truffle mushrooms with a side of chorizo.
